HOW TO WATCH MOVIES AT CINEMA WITH CLOSED CAPTIONING
Closed Captioning system for hearing impaired people based on glasses including a small display.

What is it?
It is a device which allows to hearing impaired people to watch a movie with personalized subtitles.

How does it work?

·                       On one hand, the movie is showing through any system (cinema, DVD, TV, etc.).

·                       On the other hand, we need a computer with a specific file which contains the movie subtitles (srt, sub, etc).

·                       The computer controls a small radio transmitter which sends through the air, information related to subtitles, up to 50 meters distance.

·                       Waves are received by an antenna connected to a micro-controlled circuit which is attached tothe the impaired person.

·                       This circuit transforms text and other necessary information (sync), for a proper subtitle presentation, into a signal video which is sent to glasses where a micro visor is installed.

·                       This special glasses finally show the subtitles superimposed to the movie.

·                       The circuit works with rechargeable batteries with 3 hours autonomy approximately, therefore the system is mobile. It also has a power on/off switch and a reset button. By means of a LED the system shows its status.

This innovative system is the result of integrating several simple devices commercially available but, once we put them together in this special way, they achieve a new application which satisfies the needs of a very important group of our society (hearing impaired). This system permits to hearing impaired the accesibility to audiovisual contents.
